If you are looking to green your life and improve your finances, an organic MLM company might be the right fit for you.
These companies are fairly new, and there are only a handful of them around. I took it upon myself today to venture out into the land of Google and see what organic MLM companies are out there. Here is what I found.

There is a Beyond Organic Skincare Company based in the UK that uses organic, natural ingredients. There is also a Beyond Organic company that is paired with Youngevity, a network marketing company. These two seem to be separate companies.
Note: Youngevity's products are NOT organic and not natural.
They are sold side by side with Beyond Organic in the MLM company selling these products.
Beyond Organic UK (not MLM) sells high quality, natural and organic products. Beyond Organic sells a conglomerate of actually organic products and “greenwashed” non-organic products.

Products: skin care, cosmetics, bath and body.
Does business in the USA, the UK, and Ireland.
Verdict: so close! Uses mostly actually natural ingredients, and USDA certified organic ingredients, but also contains some synthetic irritants and potential toxins.
Jasmine and Ylang Ylang Shower Gel

Cocamidopropyl betaine is a synthetic chemical used in many "natural" products to make them foam. For more on whether cocamidopropyl betaine is safe, read this article here.
Also found in NYW products: Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, a synthetic surfactant that has mixed safety reviews. It's classified as safe subject to concentration limitations, but the Environment Canada Domestic Substance List classifies it as 'expected to be toxic or harmful'.
Products: skin care, cosmetics, nutritional supplements, household cleaners.
Certified USDA organic, fair trade, internationally certified (ACO, IFOAM), no synthetic chemicals.
Does business in most countries (122 worldwide, to be exact).
Verdict: Totally legitmate. Certified organic by third party bodies (the ACO and USDA). Great quality. No synthetic irritants, potential toxins, or hidden ingredients.
Miessence is a truly impressive company.
They are the ONLY certified organic MLM company around. There are a handful of MLM companies that do offer organic and truly natural products, but Miessence is the only one certified by the ACO and the USDA.
Miessence’s Rejuvenating Facial Cleanser (All Natural Anti-Aging)
Ingredients: Certified organic aloe vera leaf juice, purified water, sunflower seed oil, sclerotium rolfsii gum, yucca extract, bitter orange extract, geranium essential oil, patchouli essential oil, chamomile extract, gotu kola extract, hops extract, horsetail extract, nettle extract.
*all ingredients are certified organic by the ACO and/or the USDA.
What else is impressive about Miessence? (a.k.a. Why is Miessence my absolutely favourite out of all the organic mlm companies?)
- most products are certified to food grade standards (higher standards than for skin care, cosmetics, etc.)
- all products are certified organic
- no synthetic chemicals
- most products are vegan
- the only non-vegan ingredient is sustainably-harvested beeswax
- no synthetic chemicals = no animals testing at ANY point in the manufacture process
- no pesticides
- fair trade
- aloe base, not water base
- no cheap fillers
Verdict: Runner up. Pretty darned good. Could be a smidge better. Certified organic by the USDA. Only concern: there are still a few ingredients that are not organic, including "natural flavors" which could be a red flag. Base is water. Okay, but could be better.
Poofy Organics Almond Cookie Body Butter
Ingredients: Organic Unrefined Shea Butter, Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, Organic Argan Oil, Organic Arrowroot Powder, Organic Almond Flavor Extract (water, ethyl alcohol, natural flavors).
Poofy Organic Ciao Eczema Lotion
Ingredients in Ciao Eczema: Distilled water, Organic Wheat Germ Oil, Organic Calendula Oil, Organic Unrefined Shea Butter, Organic Vegetable Glycerin, Emulsifying Wax (Cetostearyl Alcohol & Sorbitan Ester) euconostoc Ferment Filtrate (Kimchi Seaweed), Organic Rosemary Extract
Since Poofy organics uses water as a base, it means that their products will not last as long as my #1 choice, Miessence, which uses aloe as a base (aloe is an active ingredient, not a filler).
That said, however, everything else is amazing. Poofy Organics makes skin care and shower products, home cleaning products, essential oils, and wax melts. I would feel completely comfortable using these products.
Potential business downside: right now they are only in the USA. Great if you and everyone you know lives in the States. Not great if you want to sell or build outside the US.
What Else Should You Know Before Joining an Organic MLM Company?
There are two very big factors that will help to determine your success of failure in MLM.
- Your determination and persistence.
- Your upline.
A HUGE part of your success or failure - really the determining bit - will be how much you put into your business.
Will you work at it consistently over time? Will you give up when it gets hard? Will you keep the big picture and the end goal in mind while you're mastering the little skills?
Building a successful MLM company requires a lot of time and persistence. You won't hit it big overnight. You'll have to host a lot of events and/or write a lot of blog posts.
Big things are the result of small actions over time.
Another determining factor is your upline. What skills does your upline have? What resources and training can they give you?
